June 1st 2015

Just a quick "hi" from Disney Deb.

I have been soooooo busy, no time to chat, I go on my farm and then run to the next thing to do!

My infusions, which are a type of chemo, are working and I dare say I am as close to being in remission, as I ever will be. Crohn's disease is what it is. More good news from this St Thomas, Ontario girl, in the last 2 months, I have been a machine! Holding, attending, dealing with, celebrating and supporting so much the list is huge. BUT here are the highlights.

My poor husband was diagnosed with a bone disease in his jaw and at the start of April, without being put under, they removed 26 teeth. UGH! I cringe thinking about it. He would be without chompers for 2 months.

April 25th I held a pyjama cancer fundraiser. A 12 hour scrapbook crop, I sold out all 52 tickets and raised a record amount of $2700 in one day. I have a great team and had much amazing help and support.

A good portion of the money raised was from auctions and this year we had a fireman photo booth which was very popular!

April 27th I turned 47 and I am still not bound to a wheelchair. YEEEEEHHAAAWWWW. This meant I had to have my truck e-tested and my lovely blue pearl passed with flying colours.

{THIS was our fireman!}

Early in May we were thrilled to watch our little girl earn the highest rank she can with the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program. She was given Warrant Officer First Class status!

At the start of May also, was our daughter's PROM. Her school does things a bit different than other schools. The girls all wear white to prom. We had a photo shoot and I have to tell you this is my favourite shot and so VERY her. Her escort was a lovely man named John (same as my husband... weird eh?) and yes that is her sitting on a tank in stillettos.

The next exciting thing to happen, was for us to find out our lovely 1926 Essex finally is running smoothly! We are so very happy it wintered well and the last part has been repaired.

Just this past weekend, we watched our daughter command her very last Cadet parade. It was bittersweet as we were also celebrating her acceptance
to the reserves!!!!

Happily, we can eat real food around here as my husband's jaw has healed and his new teeth are ready. All infections are cleared up and he is healthy again and ready to eat MEAT.

This is my beautiful daughter. She is turning 18 this friday
June 5th.
We are very proud of this amazing girl.

Her party theme this year:
Judy's last pop and chip party.
{We can drink here at 19.}

Next on the large list of upcoming events is grad.

My husband and I have rented a cottage for a break right after that
to wind down from a very very busy spring here in Ontario!

Sending everyone Sunshine

Here is a little bit of sunshine for everyone!

Walk with me! It's 14.5 degree Celsius here (58 degree Fahrenheit)

A view of the neighborhood and the hills.

Wrapping it up with the church steeple.
